Material
NI200 and Ni201 are two types of industrial pure nickel alloys (where "NI" and "Ni" are both symbols for nickel; despite the different notations, they refer to the same element). They belong to the pure nickel series, with highly similar compositions and properties, but there are slight differences, mainly in their carbon content. Corrosion resistance: Both exhibit nearly identical and excellent corrosion resistance in non-oxidizing media (such as dilute sulfuric acid, hydro chloric acid, and neutral salt solutions); both are susceptible to corrosion in strong oxidizing environments (such as nitric acid). Electrical and thermal conductivity: Their conductivity is close to that of pure copper, with identical performance, making them suitable for electronic conductive components. Plasticity and work ability: Both have good ductility, are easy to cold work (stamping, bending) and weld, and the differences in mechanical properties (strength, hardness) at room temperature are negligible. Magnetic properties: Both are ferromagnetic materials and can be attracted by magnets. If the operating environment is at room temperature or below 315°C and cost sensitivity is a factor, Ni200 is preferred (due to its higher carbon content, the processing cost is slightly lower). If it is to be used in high-temperature environments above 315°C, Ni201 must be selected (its low-carbon design avoids high-temperature embrittlement and offers higher reliability).
